05:07 pm - Holy Long Time Batman@@#$#!** Holy crap! I haven't posted to LJ in many moons. Heehee. Anyway everyone - hope you're all doing well and getting on in life. I'm on Facebook daily and really don't use Myspace that much at all anymore either - obviously I'm not on LJ that much either.
Work is uber-busy, but a good challenge. I have lots to do and learn. I hope to get to travel some more soon. A bunch of us are planning to go on a Western Caribbean cruise in October this year that I'm really looking forward to. I am going to Vegas in a couple of weeks for a friend's 21st bday - that'll be interesting. We're staying at the Planet Hollywood - formerly the Aladdin. Anyway, that's about it for now. I'll hopefully check LJ again in the near future.

03:25 pm - Travels galore! So,
Just an update on my upcoming travels (which I'm very excited about).
1. Friday, May 4th I will be taking a red-eye flight after work and heading to the Big Apple (yes, NYC). I will then run around for 2 days sightseeing etc. Then, on Monday, May 7th I will board Royal Caribbean International's newest ship, Liberty of the Seas, for a 2-day inaugural cruise-to-nowhere. I'll be traveling with a co-worker/friend, and cool thing is they're putting us up in a junior suite stateroom (has a balcony and is quite a bit larger than the normal-sized staterooms).
2. On Sunday, June 3rd, Megan and I will be flying down to L.A., then from there on Air New Zealand we will be flying non-stop to Rarotonga in the Cook islands. For the next 7 nights we get to do basically nothing except sleep on a gorgeous white sand beach. We may hike around, ride bikes around the island or snorkel (maybe all of the above), but it's a vacation and I plan on reading a lot! On our flight back to the states we have to go a bit out of the way and stop over in Auckland, New Zealand for nearly 11 hours -- so Megs and I will get out of the airport and putz around the city, maybe take a tour or something. So I'll be able to officially say I've been to New Zealand. YIKES! I'm so excited!
3. Friday, June 29th - Megan, Ryan, myself and one lucky other friend will pick up a rental car from Enterprise downtown, and drive 8 hours back to Kalispell, Montana for my grandmother's 80th b-day celebration/family reunion...we will return that Sunday, July 1st.
4. Last trip planned for the year will be Thursday, October 25th - Megan, Jackie and I will be flying to Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. I won a free convertible car rental for 5 days since I apparently sold the most car rentals (convertibles of course) when I used to answer phones here at Costco Travel. We'll be staying with my closest friend from college, Sammie and her husband (maybe her parents) in Hilo on the Big Island. Probably hit up a beach or two, tour Volcanoes National Park, eat lots.
Phew -- I'm tired just writing all of this. Current Mood: complacent

10:24 pm - Long Time, No Write To my livejournal friends. It has been a while since my last post. Lots has happened and lots has not. Anyway, work work work like the rest of you. I did win a trip to the Cook Islands -- that's freakin awesome! I'll be taking the twin with me in June for a 7 night stay -- we will also get nearly 10 hours layover in Auckland, New Zealand on our way back -- so I can say I've been to New Zealand as well -- we're gonna get out of the airport and take a tour of the city or something, grab lunch.
Anyway, I spend most of my time at work, then I pick Megan and sometimes Jackie up from downtown, we eat dinner together and then we either hang out with some other good friends (Cassie, Harmony, Staci, Elise and Anna), on weekends I go to church, and usually hang out in coffee shops, doing crosswords and reading or Sudoku.
Well, that's been my life for the past couple of months really. We did just have two friends get married...they are from India and they went back home and got married. They'll probably be returning back to Seattle area mid-February. It's such a different mind-set to up and get married to someone you've only met just once or twice. I admire it in a way and other ways I think it's just so different, alien. I don't know if my mind could wrap around the idea enough to make it seem like I could ever do something like that. It brings up an interesting thought for discussion as to American mind-sets of family obligation, social obligation, or even self-obligation to do something in life -- settle down, get married not just only for love but for stability, for normalness, start a family. We seem to equate everything to compatibility and making ourselves happy in our society, but some other cultures don't view all that life has in store for just the "pursuit of happiness," so-to-speak. Anyway, just some of my mindless ramblings for you all tonight.
I'll chat more later. Have a good one friends. Current Mood: contemplative

11:42 pm - Those of you who didn't have to work today, two words: YOU SUCK That's all for now. Heck, at least I got free pizza for showing up to work today... + I got off 30 min earlier than normal, but then I had to wait for a bus to come twice because the first two were too full to let me on...so my feet were basically frozen by the time I got over to Wallingford...then I had to walk 9 more blocks to my house...let me just say 9 blocks on completely numb feet is not my idea of a walk in the park. So, ergo YOU ALL SUCK that didn't have to work today. You know I love you, so that's why I can be honest here and tell you all how I really feel, knowing that it will not change our relationship. Really, we can only deepen our feelings here with my honesty. I value our friendship. Thank you for this lovely chat. We'll have to do it again sometime soon. TTNF.
Cheerio and all that mumbo-jumbo that friends say when they sign off on LJ and all those other pesky blogs that I don't get to check.

You are The Star
Hope, expectation, Bright promises.
The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised
The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.

02:46 pm - Long Time Sheesh! I haven't posted or checked LJ since mid-September. Crizazy! Well, I've traveled to DC and to Vegas since then. We've had a couple of you kids's birthdays recently -- good times -- and the holidays are upon us. 2006 is almost over! I swear just last week we had the New Year -- time is flying. I'll be turning 27 this coming December -- that makes it 3 years till I hit the big 30! WOW! Let's just say upon further reflection of this year I've learned a few things about myself:
1. 26 is the year I learned to drink more - plus how to deal with a hangover. 2. 26 is the year that I had my first kiss -- nothing extraordinary, but nonetheless it was a good time to happen. 3. I may be addicted to crosswords, Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan , Autumn, and coming soon---Suduko! 4. I am good at what I do, and gosh-dernit, people do notice that. 5. I am becoming increasingly more and more nervous each time I fly -- I guess it doesn't help when I encounter more-than-normal turbulence! AGGGH!
Alrighty, more reflections to come...I'll keep you posted. Hehehe! Current Mood: awake

11:43 pm - Leaving for FIJI Okay gang, leaving for Fiji at 6:40pm tomorrow. What's crazy is that I'll be crossing the International Dateline, so I leave on September 9th, but I'll be arriving at 5:15am on September 11th -- crazy huh? Well, anyway I'll try and take as many pictures as I can. I don't even own a camera (much less a digital), so all my pics will therefore be on a disposable -- but I'll get the pics put on to CD so I can post online. Yahoo. You all have a good week...I'll see ya when I return on the 17th.
the word from Fiji (means hello, how are you etc) = BULA
